5/2/10 - day 58.
got up at 8am, and went to catch what javier had told me was the 9am bus to, the awkward to pronounce, Juayua. it didnt leave til 9.45 and had a hardcore bible basher on it who stood up at the front for a full 30 minutes giving a hell of an animated performance that involved singing, praying and having a presumably fictional conversation, using a definitely fictional ear piece, with jesus. he was well annoying and very loud but what confused me was people were giving him money at the end and i have no idea why.
the journey as under an hour and i was sat at the back next to a woman who had about a million boxes of food. i had to laugh when a multipack of noodles fell from above, landing on her head and she barely reacted. when i got there, i made my way to hostel anahuac which was another belting hostel. really nice, clean, free internet, info everywhere and book exchange (which i personally had been desperate for).
had been having slightly wierd stomach pains that day so had just a mundane ham and cheese sandwich from a cafe in the centre and went back to the hostel feeling quite tired - probably from yesterdays hike and the heat. after a lie down i got up about 2pm and had a bit of a read in a hammock in the garden. just one strenuous excercise after another today!!
met a polish girl (monica) and a french dude (tomas) who were staying in the dorm and we went out for dinner about half 6 to a really cool, slightly hippyish place the hostel people had recommended to us (had chicken quesadillas and salad). went back to the hostel, chilled out with the others in the garden for a bit then went to bed about 9pm.
