Ric and Ads go worldwide
hey hey!
Havent been getting much of a chance to write long journal entries until now so this ones most of mexico!
Having left Mexico City after seeing the runins at the temple of the rising sun (pics are at: http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/adslarsson/album?.dir=/815ere2&.src=ph&.tok=phTiRYFBSmIHvuwy ) We headed down to tepoztlan to meet up with our only contacts in mexico courtsy of nat. Very cool place with an open market loads of people and a pyrimd on top of a mountian! Having being told we couldnt miss it we climbed the 2500 meters all the way to the top in an impressive 45 mins way infront of the americans that we're frequenting the area and pissing off the locals! After that we we're taken out by our mexican friends which was great, they took us to this place where you can have as much tequilla as you want! this had a great effect on my spanish but not such a good effect on general motor function after about 15. We then got to go to a salsa club which was great. Apart from i cant dance like that, so i managed to find both of us dancing parteners whom i think we're a little dissapointed at our english dancing tecnique! they soon tought us some moves though and im pleased to say both me and ads can now successfully blag it in salsa bars!
After recovering from the ensueing hangover we decided we wanted to head to the pacific coast. We we're told by all the mexicans that Acapulco was a good place to go so headed there. 5 hours later we arrived to find a reincarnation of the costa del sol on the coast of mexico! The best part about it was the air con in the youth hostal which was awsome, and for 40 pesos (2 pound) they do all your washing for you and iron it! Quality. Having taken full advantage of the hostel facilites we headed for the beach which has been made a little hard to get to by the sheer volume of buildings on the coast line. The waves are amazing, they pic you up and chuck you on the beach then drag you back out again which is like being in a tumble dryer or something.
Having made friends with a mexican opera singer on the beach called jordy we headed bcak to the hostel to prepare for the evening.
This was one of the most crazy nights i have ever had without a doubt! We went out with an Mexican opera singer,an American travel writer, an Auzzi merchant banker and a Japanese girl whom our travel writer friend rachel had aquired. It all started calm enough, but to cut a long story short we ended up in a mexico gay bar followed by a strip club. Absolutely mad! Rachel got us in everywhere for free because she wanted to review the places, which i must say was the decideing factor for me going, esspecially to the first one! Anyway enough about that!
Having had a enough of Acapulco we headed for purto escondido with our auzzi merchant banker friend ronnie. This was really good, its an amzingly laid back place an the beaches are amzing. Didnt realise until the second day that it has the largest beach brake in the world and certain beaches are a mecca for the worlds best surfers. Watching these guys is amazing and they are surfing giants, about 40 foot! Had a little go at some surfing on the small wave beach but wasnt quite up to standard. gotta work on that! anyway im almost out of internet time so i gotta stop but im nearly up to date now!
enjoy the photos
hope everyone is well and having a good time in england!
