This morning was an early start the alarm going off at 6.40am, but it was well worth the effort to see the sunrise. Although we were very early we were not the first people to arrive at the bridge. We have visited two museums today and one of the war cemetery's, we have also been along the river on one of the long boats, very exhilarating. Today we have moved from Bangkok to just outside Kanchanaburi, we are staying in a hotel that overlooks the Bridge on the River Kwai. It is such a beautiful location you cannot really imagine the horrendous atrocities that went on over 70 years ago. We took a mini bus for today's journey, it was the driver from hell. Went for a walk in the park and came across this guy!!!!

Arrived in Bangkok at 6pm local time after the two flights. Immigration was very busy, we eventually landed at our hotel just after 8. We visited the roof top restaurant this evening situated on the 25th floor of the hotel, great views of the city on a very warm evening.

A very hot day in Bangkok, but managed to master the sky train, water taxi's and ferries. Visited the Grand Palace and the Royal Monastery of the Emerald Buddha, superb. Late afternoon by the pool taking advantage of happy hour.
