Today we have moved from Bangkok to just outside Kanchanaburi, we are staying in a hotel that overlooks the Bridge on the River Kwai. It is such a beautiful location you cannot really imagine the horrendous atrocities that went on over 70 years ago.
We took a mini bus for today's journey, it was the driver from hell. Jan spent most of the time with her eyes shut meditating, I think she was praying!!
Double or single solid lines meant nothing to the driver, travelling at twice the speed limit in towns, I ran out of paper for the offences committed, but the main thing is we arrived in one piece to find a great hotel.
Walked over the bridge today and around the small town. We are hoping to go down to the bridge at 7am in the morning when it is quiet to take some photos and then spend the day sight seeing and paying our respects.

Samantha & Derek Great to see you are enjoying yourselves, even with your eyes shut! We went to the bridge , walked across and saw how awful it must have been when the bridge was being built by the POWs. It's very moving but peaceful now.
pascale Do not forget you have retired! No more offences to write up!
