Hi peeps, we made it to India,

and what an experience!! The smells (usually cow poo, followed by sewage, and then the smell of concrete), the sounds (the 100 different honking sounds of buses, rickshaws and cars) and the people - who are mostly genuinely very nice, especially when we say we are Mauritians (like lost cousins to Indians).

We are in the gorgeous trekking area of Manali (North of India), from where we are going to travel to Leh in a few days time. We just need a bit of sleep right now cos of all the travelling. We came up to Manali by sleeper coach which was truly an experience in a very very good way. The scenery along the way was stunning - think Canada rocky mountain and lake views. And here in Manali we have a beautiful Mountain view from our balcony.

Right, got to dash - got some sleep to catch up on. Unfortunately I wont be able to post pics yet as we have a fil camera, not digital, but I will post them eventually. Love Rish xxx
