Well, we've made it to Leh. The people are lovely and we're staying in a quiet place by the river. Me and Maya were both sick on the way up - Maya because of altitude sickness, and me cos of something I ate I think, and to top it all off I was just stung by a bee, but hey - not everything can be perfect! We came up by road and the views were stunning. We actually travelled along the 2nd highest motorable road in the world (hence altitude sickness) so we've just been recovering for the past 2 days.  There are lots of Buddhist Gompas here and loads of sights - hopefully we'll be well enough to see them in a couple of days...
