Hi dudes and dudettes, I'm already in Argentina... yes we really have been moving this fast. I'm really missing Bolivia but I'm loving Argentina too, cos of all the cute guys- they're EVERYWHERE! The last few days in Bolivia we visited the town of Uyuni (pretty dead town) but this is where the Salt Flata are... miles of nothing but salt and the odd island with cacti here and there (I think that's how u say it miss pure English SELINA!). It was really beautiful and kind of surreal cos yous mind tells u it's snow but when u bend down to touch it it's not ice cold. We got the most gorgeous pics and most importantly, semi-nude pics.... I know what you're thinking - that's not something I'd usually do. BUT a few girls on my trip came up with the idea and I just couldn't help joining them - they were having too much fun. The best thing is that we made the illusion that we're coming out of a Pringles pack and it really does look like it. We've got our hands over our bust and there are a lot of blurs and shadows as the sun was behind us so it wasn't full porno shoot! Anyway, it felt really good and free and girly and we ca't stop giggling when we see them so I'm considering putting them up on this or the Facebook site - they've all done it!
Enough about nudity we also saw a salt hotel, with even furnishings made of salt! What else... oh yes, our tour truck, Doris broke down so we all had to jump on the back of an open truck carrying some locals - that was quite fun as we were all huddled and so cold/peed off with the truck breaking down that we got the wine and rum out and were just drinking straight alcohol all the way - that brightened up the journey. I also did a few hours of horse riding in Tupiza through amazing cliff formations and cacti- it was like we were in the Wild West and cos we'd been reading on Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid having ridden through the town, we were really in the mood. The saddle unstable and I had no helmet but that didn't stop me from being stupid and dangerous for the second tine. I have hardly any experience on horses and when I have been on them I've just walked/trotted at the most. However, I was with one other girl, Ali, who is an experienced rider and she convinced me to Canter (one speed down from galloping which is what the race horses do). Now when I say 1 speed down, that does not mean I was going slowly and I swear I was scared for my life a lot of the way. Anthony would have killed me if he'd seen it. I was holding on for my life to the saddle and was too scared and unstable to let go and pull the reigns to stop so I just ended up stopping when Ali stopped. It's bloody tiring and by the next day my inner thighs and whole back was in pain (which Ali says is normal). Tomorrow I'm going Ziplining (where ur harnessed to a wire and slide from one end of a mountain, creek or whatever to the other) - that's for the whole day and then I have a full days horse riding again but thankfully this time there's a beginner with us that I can hang out with when Ali's going crazy fast. Today I went up the cable car to get a view of Salta. Salta city is GORGEOUS and reminds me of Italy cos of teh architecture in the Plaza and orange trees lining the streets. There is every kind of shop u can imagine and it's a major contrast to Bolivia. Tonight we see Argentina vs Mexico football match on tv with a BBQ at a nearby hostel. I don't want to camp tomorrow so I'm thinking I might pay for a dorm bed in town, besides it's my birthday in 3 days - I might treat myself xx
