Today was as near a perfect day as we have had in six months. Probably my favourite day anyway. We got up at the normal time and had breakfast. Went to the restaurant in the resort and got all the paperwork for the diving class sorted out then too before we broke for lunch early. Sounds normal enough so far, thats why I said it was near perfect!!!! After lunch we headed out on the boat for our last two dives. A guy from the resort brought his camera to video the whole trip and was going around recording us setting up our gear and interviewing us a bit. Our instructor brought his M16 loaded with little plastic pellets (not a real gun dont worry), but he was hilarious running around shooting at things and being a scary drill sergeant during our dive briefing... we couldnt stop laughing at him.
The first dive was good, but the visibility was rubbish for most of it. We still did our few skills and then went exploring following the crazy instructor around the Twin Rocks dive site until he lost us and we all accidently floated to the top, it was near the end of the dive anyway and the four of us managed to stay together... no problem!!!! Back on board then and set up the gear for the second dive and had another dive briefing. An hour after we got out of the water we were back in it again and this time there were no skills to be done, just having fun. This was the moment that diving became unreal for me, it went to another level on this one. I really found myself being lost in the environment and being completely at ease with the movements and breathing and everything. We saw Nemo and his Dad, we saw loads of other fish and the best of all was the stuff that Santi the instructor was doing, he had us in stitches.... mask filled with water and regulator falling out of the mouth thanks to his carry on, but thats an easy fix for a now qualified open water diver like us!!!
I havent gone into much detail on the dive, but it was incredible, the next day we did nothing and I was depressed the whole day watching other divers head out, I cant wait to get in the water again when we get home. Anyway, after the second dive we came back to shore and went for a wash and a change of clothes. We all met up back down at the bar and then went up to the posh restaurant on the resort overlooking the sea (at night, counldnt see anything). It was still a really classy open air dining area and still very cheap. The whole crew plus the instructors all had dinner and lots of giggles and then went back down to the beach where we sat on the sand or on cushions watching fire jugglers spinning balls of flames around themselves. It was mesmerizing, coolest thing I have ever seen. In the distance people were lighting chinese lantern things and sending them flying up in the sky.... this was honestly the coolest day of our lives. Genuine movie quality stuff. Cockails were flowing, the tide was gently rolling in a few metres from us. Everyone was laughing and having a good time.... the perfect ending to a near perfect day.....
