So, we are in Lima for three days. Today is day number two, yesterday was day number one and well you guessed it tomorrow is day number three. Its been about that exciting so far. We are still kind of tired (regina is anyway) so today we just did nothing, except sleep, and watch tv, and eat..... just like home!!!! Not much to report about this place either, we are staying in a nice neighbourhood.... lots of security guards around the place which is both good and bad. Nice to have them around but not nice to wonder why they are there. The hostel is nice, with only three rooms so its nice and quiet. Last night there was a couple with a baby so Regina finally had someone who understood her to talk to.... only messing, she had someone nice to play with. Tomorrow I think we might brave a taxi to town to see the historic centre before we head off again. Next stop is Santiago, Chile for two days before we head to New Zealand. This is surely the most boring blog anyone has ever written.... if you like I could tell you about our trip to the supermarket today..... no, I really couldnt do that
Well, at least ye know we are still alive as of the 2nd of December, and we are in Lima, and they have tv and supermarkets..... so probably wont be much else to say until New Zealand.... ok so bye for now then
One more thing to say about Lima, we took the taxi into town, frightful as usual but thankfully the traffic was very bad and it slowed him right down. When we got to the centre, to the popularly named main square Plaza de Armas, there was a changing of the guard ceremony taking place... cool brass band playing along with them... no video. The plaza is part of a UNESCO heritage site, although I am not really sure why. It is nice enough I guess, a bit yellow maybe.... though I am sure there is a historical reason for it. Neither of us really liked it in there (very starey). We were walking down the main shopping street and this weird man came up to us on a bike, he took out a notepad and in broken american english he asked us what a word was on a page of his book. The word was paddle, so we told him it was paddle, and he then asked us what it meant. We told him it was for using when rowing, he wrote that down underneath and we ran off as quick a we could with the hebeegeebees frightened to beegeebees out of us, or so to speak. After that we got one more request for a photo, declined, we went for a nice lunch and then skidaddled back to the hostel to hide out for the rest of the evening. Later that evening it was off to the airport for a quick flight and then sleeping on a bench in the park til the sun came up and we could get a bus into the hostel.... only joking, it was a bench in the airport.... beside an elevator.... Regina picked it....
