Colleen & Tom's Explorations
Surprisingly didn't sleep so well. Flat pillows. But woke up to find we were off South West Rocks. We had ordered breakfast to our room, which was handy. When we'd finished eating we dressed and went off to mass. Father Peter is wonderful - a retired parish priest and a laugh a minute. There would've been about 60 people or more, and we all enjoyed his relaxed manner and witty humour. The people sitting behind us came from St Clair and Glenmore Park! After mass we went up to the Royal Promenade where the shops are, to find some shampoo and conditioner for me. They only had conditioner. We explored a little more, and watched as we went past Coffs Harbour and the Solitary Islands. I then went to the spa to book a massage appointment and buy some shampoo. We also asked if it was possible to have a table for two for dinner, but alas, no such luck. After that it was time for what we thought was going to be a talk on watercolour painting, but turned out to be a practical lesson. It was really good, very interesting, with both of us producing a picture each. From there we found our way to the Windjammer, where we had a buffet style lunch. The people here behaved as if they were in the food court at Penrith Plaza, yelling out across the room to their mates. After lunch we returned our room for a rest, although Tom went off to an enrichment lecture and came back and dozed. After that we prepared ourselves for a formal dinner night. Dinner was fine. That awful man from last night wasn't there, so that was nice, and I chatted to a lovely lady from Frederickton whose cousin's son is Mr Stewart, the deputy at St Columba's. After dinner we surveyed photos taken of us so far - a process that has changed over the years. Now you swipe your room card in a device and it shows you what photos they have. Very quick and easy. We decided to attend tonight's show at the theatre, and what a brilliant show it was - a trio called Fusion with a baritone, a soprano and an alto. They sang everything from opera to jazz and to musicals - they were brilliant.
