First border crossing completed as we are now in Panama. We left Tamarindo on Saturday and travelled down the coast to a small town called Santa Teresa. The journey was pretty horrific after one too many at 'Ladies Night' the night before but again, the views are amazing as you drive through the countryside. We left San Jose on Thursday on a 5 hour bus journey to Tamarindo on the Pacific coast. 7 hours later we were still bumping down the very potholed track to the town in stiffling heat and no air-conditioning! Unsuprisingly there is absolutely no concern with time keeping - the driver kept pulling over to pick people up off the side of the road or let someone on to sell us oranges and lottery tickets! But the good thing was that we got to see lots of the Costa Rica...

Just to let you know that Sarah & I have arrived in San Jose, Costa Rica after a very long journey... We've met up with a friend, Katie, who will be travelling with us for the next 10 days or so and tomorrow we leave the city for the coast and a couple of days of making a start on the tan and adjusting to the time zone... very tough! After that we will be exploring the north west area of Costa Rica and I will write more from there.
