World Travels
Today marks one week in Spain. Sadly, I am not feeling well. It is common for Americans to get a bad cold when they arrive in Pamplona because the climate is so unique. BUT yesterday was my first day to explore this lovely city on my own! I met for crepes with my Canadian friend, Julia, in the center of town. We decided to spend a few hours being completely touristy. (taking photos, going into the shops, speaking English loudly, etc.) It is just so incredibley beautiful here, I can't take enough photos! The architecture is breathtaking. I then met with my very sweet and accepting new friends Silvia, Audrina and Ineki around ten to go "fiesta". In the historic district are many bars and shops open until late at night. In Pamplona, there are entire families in the bars for tapas and drinks. I saw babies, five year olds, kids my age, adults and elderly people, all together to have a fun time. I met many of Silvias and Audrinas friends and had a lovely time! I was so exhausted and feeling sick so I decided to call it a night around two thirty, but everyone else was on to the next street to hit more bars and see more people. Loco!
I have definitely settled in to the Spanish lifestyle, and the language is coming along really well. I am signed up for the Universities exam in May and if I pass, I can register Espanol as my second language. SWISH! I miss my family but am looking forward to my dad (possibly) coming this Christmas and for my mom in the Spring. All in all, I am very happy to be here (:
