Hello everyone!
So we had a very long flight from London to Hong Kong last week... 12 hours of being awake during a night flight was not going to be fun. The cabin crew were great fun though!
We arrived in Hong Kong around 4pm in an unbelievably quiet airport. As soon as we got off the plane the humidity hit us which wasn't great, but it was bearable. We managed to navigate our way onto the airport express and then to the hostel which took us a while... winding round some corridors and eventually making it upstairs! The room was small, but as we were only sleeping in it, it didn't matter too much! we laughed pretty hard when we saw the shower / toilet! we would be sitting on the loo, whilst having a shower and brushing our teeth. it was almost like being back at uni in the tiny en-suites!! We crashed out after Dave went to find some food, and woke up the next day at lunchtime to meet up with Megsy.
Lunch was an interesting find.... we wandered round the streets near Times Square and accidentally found ourselves in the Wet Market.... fishes chopped in half length ways with no heads but their hearts still beating! euuugh!
We went up to the Peak with Megsy and watched the sun set over Hong Kong to take some pics then headed home for another good nights sleep before our flights to New Zealand.
So we arrived in New Zealand on tuesday late morning, feeling like it was somewhere in Wales but with palm trees. bizarre. we didn't have anything to declare - i don't think dave counts as an animal?! Our hostel is really nice, quiet and friendly with a few regulars but new people arriving each day.
We're staying there for a few more nights while our hunt for a car continues......
