Today we arrive in Cusco, Peru and stayed at the beautiful hotel Aranwa. We had a bit of altitude adjustment at 10,000 feet. The hotel actually vents additional oxygen in the rooms to assist with the adjustment and coca tea is also recommended. Cusco is Peru's Historical Capital City, as well as America's Archeological Capital City. We took an afternoon tour which included the Cathedral in the Plaza, the temple of the Sun as well as the ruins of Sacsayhuaman....

We arrived in Lima for a day lay over before our flight to Cuzco. We had this view of the Palace Of Justice from our hotel window. We ventured out for the evening in this historical center. Apparently there was a popular rock group staying at the hotel so the teen age girls were swarming the front of the hotel. Quite a bustling area with lots of traffic and people. Today we went on a wine tour in the Casablanca Wine Valley. It was called the "Uncorked Wine Tour". There were 8 of us on the tour which took us to 3 very unique boutique vineyards. The Casablanca Valley is known for their white wines and we were able to sample some very unique blends. The day was great with good wine tasting and finishing with a fabulous meal at the third vineyard. We were picked up from our hotel at 9AM and returned at 7PM. It's a good thing...

We had an absolutely fabulous tour of Santiago, thanks to our private guide, Carlos. We toured the "New Santiago" and the "Old Santiago" which is quite a contrast. We ended our cruise at port Valparaiso, Chile. We never expected such a beautiful city with lots of history and colorful houses and shops on steep hills overlooking the ocean. Santiago is about an hour from this port so we had a tour to pick us up and tour the city and then ended in Santiago.
