Hello Everyone! Apologies for not updating blog for a while! Hope you are all well, bet you are all busy making preparations for Eid or Christmas!
I checked out of my hostel in KL on Tuesday and spent the next two days in the Cameron Highlands. The bus from KL to CH cost 23 RM and was suppose to take 3 & 1/2 hours but took 5. In the highlands I stayed in "Fathers guest house" which cost 10 malaysian ringgit per night. The hostel is high up on a big plot of land. Its family run and the people are friendly. the facilities are pretty basic but you get hot showers so its pretty luxurious for 1 pound 50p!
The first day in the highlands I spent walking round the town as there were loads of shops, restaurants and markets.
The second day I went on a tour of the countryside, which cost 20RM. I started the day by going to a chinese temple. Then I went to the Rose Centre which had a huge variety of plants. After which, I went to a tea plantation which was cool, I also saw how the tea was made in the factory and sampled some. Then I went to the stawberry farm and had some stawberrys with cream which was delicious! I also went to the bee farm and how honey was made. Finally I went to the butterfly farm which was great, you go in this centre and there are all these colourful butterflies flying around you. And next door to this, you can see loads of different insects and stuff. After the tour, I went back to the hostel, I met Sarah who is studying in Singapore at the mo but orignally from the UK. We went for lunch which was seved on a bamboo leaf- its was a mix of dhall, rice, achar, sauces, and lentils, aloo etc . That night I watched a movie at the hostel which was really funny...it was about ice skating!
