I arrived by ferry straight from Padangbai to Gili Trawangan which is the largest of the three Gilli Islands. We met Brian from Canada so the three of us decided to spend time on Gilli together.

I love it here. This island does not allow cars and motorbikes. All you see here are horse carriages and bicycles, its like going back in time. Its not busy and the beaches here have white sand and the water is so many shades of blue- its amazing! I think its the best Island I have been on. I just got back from snorkeling with turtles! Yesterday we arrived as it was getting dark and checked into an OK hotel. There is a huge variety of restaurants on the strip of road we are staying on with sea views. After eating a delicious local Indonesian dish we went to a bar that had a big projector screen and was playing "no country for old men" which I thought was an excellent movie!

Today, I have been relaxing on the beach and snorkeling. We saw these lounges with TV's on the beach and you could choose a movie to watch or play the playstation. They serve you over 20 varieties of ice cream and make fresh pop corn. We will be heading there tonight I think and then to some bars as there is some live music playing and a party at one of them!
