Bergen, Norway
Well well well... Here we are, in Bergen, in June, after a two year long journey in a place called Atlantic College in Wales. Two years of tears, laughter, hard work, successes, disappointments but most of all wonderful friendships. But now, it has ended, sooner than I thought it would. It's strange, but life moves on faster than you think it will, and suddenly it's almost time for the next adventure.
So what have I done here this far? Lots.. Theatre possibly the most interesting part of it. Kretakör: Ice, Carte Blanche: Ambra, and Jo Strømgren: Selskapet. Amazing, all of it. The last two probably fall into dance rather than theatre. Both strong companies with an amazing capability for expression through physical movement and a clear message for the audience to interpret. The first, Ice, is a hard-core, "in-yer-face" show, which hits you like an unexpected car behind you, draws you in, swirls you round, fascinates and amazes you, before it once again shows you just how difficult it is to be human and spins you yet another round to prove that it was all necessary. Theatre at its most direct, most honest in that it is theatre, and therefore also incredibly strong. Bergen has been alive with internationality, with new impulses. Wonderful...
