Friday 5th Oct - A 4.30am start to the day, with sad goodbyes we headed off with Jorge & Cristina's personal taxi to the airport for our flight to Rio de Janeiro - Brazil. Arrived at the airport with heaps of time, so we thought! Joined the queue for check in - 2 hours of checking in luggage, going through scanners, then customs, a really quick coffee, to hearing our names called for boarding!! A pleasant 2 hr flight, and landing in Rio with clouds and rain ☹. I thought Rio was meant to be sunny!

Got to the hotel and booked into a room with a fantastic view of Copacabana Beach. We walked out for some lunch and to find outrpickup spot for the first tour tomorrow. What we thought should only be 10 - 15 mins walk turned into nearly an hour, we marched about 10 blocks past it with seeing it! Oh well, a good stretch of the legs and walking off all the yummy Argentine food. The evening turned a little hazy and looks like rain. The view of Copacabana beach is awesome.
