Hello Peeps,Well, what a busy couple of girlies we have been!! Enjoyed Sydney, massively, our final day we didn't manage to do the Coastal walk from Bondi to Coogie, because we were too busy trying to sort adventures in Fiji... We did however, manage to go whale watching in the afternoon. Packed our lunchies (we need to try and stick to budget!!!), and wrapped up warm in our new woolly hats, scarves, and then the waterproofs- supplied by the boat trip. We were a bit disappointed with the whale watching- we did have fun, however the whales weren't showing off for us, instead just popping up and down to the surface keeping themselves to themselves!Tuesday (12th) we spent the day travelling from Sydney to Hervey Bay, arriving at our hostel just in time for the booze run and all you can eat pizza. The following morning, it was an early start, having to get up at 6am to check out, ready for a safety meeting at 7am for our 3 day trip to the legendary 'Fraser Island'. After the meeting we all (14 of us altogether) had to go to collect our 4x4 vehicles for the sandy island. We were told how to drive, pack, pitch tents and survive the dingos!! This is when Ciara stupidly asked where the spare tyre was... like every other 4x4 in the world, it was on the back!! Then, it was on to the supermarket to buy the food supplies. It was interesting buying for 14 people and we did end up with more food than we could eat!!Fraser Island in summary: We both had an amazing time, met some cool people from all over the world and had lots of giggles. We saw whales, dolphins, sharks, cuckaburrow (bird, we don't know how to spell it!) and dingos. We also nearly died due to Mario, driver of the 'Mariocart', went round a corner and almost toppled the van!Good times!!The beach was amazing, long white beaches and clear seas went for miles- total stretch of east coast= 74 miles, which is also used as the road, which Rach says was great fun to drive on.We visited Lake Wabby, Maheno Wreck, Indian Head and Lake McKenzie- a freshwater lake with white sands and the clearest, still drinkable water. It was idyllic, though a little cold on the evenings! For our two evenings there, we cooked, chatted, giggled, played cards and drank! All in all we had the best time and can't wait for you to see the pics. (We're going to have to upload them when we get to New Zealand as the internet here is VERY slow and VERY expensive!!)Our next step was to fly back to Sydney from Hervey Bay for not even a night as we had an early flight Sunday morning. We worked out we'd save ourselves a few bucks hiring a car for 14 hours, rather than using public transport and paying for accommodation for 2 hours. We enjoyed having the freedom of being able to check out Sydney at our leisure, and visited Bondi and Coogie beaches. We had previously contacted Sean (a family friend of Ciara's), a celebrity chef who invited us to his restaurant for dinner that eve.We had yummy food (the best yet!) and were both fed very well!We particularly like the massive, juicy, delicious, scrumptious, meaty prawns and the heavenly, divine, delectable, creamy, mouth watering crème brulee with maple syrup!Sean then took it upon himself to show us the most exclusive clubs of Sydney, and treated us with Moet and Chandon! We even got to go to the revolving restaurant to a private celebrity party! So now we are in Fiji, soaking up the sun, thoroughly enjoying our chill out time, having a niiiice lie in if we want it!Hope you're all enjoying your Monday morning! Chin up! ;-)Until next time…Lots of LoveCiara and Rachel xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
