Hello All!! My final blog!!
I hope I haven't bored you all to tears with my inane ramblings! I will be putting up photos at some point when I get a chance to go through them.
So the flight home was little fraught! The only flight of the 19 I've done that couldn't be delayed was delayed! I got to the airport and after a bit of a panic that my flight number didn't exsist I found the flight I was meant to be on and it was delayed an hour - I had an hour to transfere planes in Madrid! Yikes!! They also seem very concerned with drug smuggling here and after having my bag searched and pocked and prodded, me being asked a lot of cunfusing questions and then being patted down the woman shoved her hand down my cleavage to see if I had anything in there! Didn't even warm her hands up! We had to stop in Guayaquil which was still in Ecuador - in my opinion not how you make up for lost time but apparently scheduled so it had to be done! Getting back on the plane I discovered I'd be flying for the next 10 hours and 40 minutes on a plane that had no TV no radio and the only entertainment was the 3 2 year old children taking it in turns to cry! The flight passed surprisingly quickly and before I knew it I was getting in a right state about not making the next fight. I asked the airstewardess if I'd make it and was told with a expression on her face like I was stupid " of course you'll make it - but you'll have to run!" Run!! I don't run! And in my opinion you're not of course going to make a flight if you have to run! When we were finally let off the plane I made a dash for it bashing a poor man with a neck brace out my way but needs must! I had to go down 2 moving walkways, through passport control and then saw the sign saying GATE H - 25 minutes! My flgiht was leaving in 15! Ah crap - now I do have to run! I through myself down the corridors, 2 lifts, a train, 4 more moving walk ways and got myself re-scanned before I joined the back of the cue of people boarding at GatE H - I made it with minutes to spare! We then sat on the tarmac for another 15 minutes waiting for the late people! Bloody typical!! The 2 hour flight from Madrid to Heathrow was uneventful and before I knew it I was sat waiting in a coffee shop for mum and dad who were stuck in traffic! You've got to love that about london!! It was so lovely to see them and of course they'd brought the dogs! After a lots of cuddles and a few tears ( dad's such a girl!! just kidding!) we were back in the car on the way home.
2 days later and it feels like I've never been away but the weather has been great and seeing friends has been fun so the holiday blues are being kept at bay . . . .for now!!
Much love and thanks for sticking with me!
