Hello all,
Now in Jakarta indonesia. A very busy and built up capital city. After a small mission to get a bus and taxi to my hotel I have pretty much seen the National Monument and Mosque and wondered the streets. I'm now taking refuge in a dodgy internet cafe to escape the rain.
So quick run down of traveling that I have not told you about!
Veitnam
Hanoi - amazing jazz clubs and great atmosphere, lots to see and wonder about.
Hoi An - small city with good food market, clean beach, but only a good stop if you want to have something Tailored. (Being the budget traveler that was not on the cards)
Ho Chi Minh - Not as thrilling as I expected although the best and most moving war museum I have ever been to. If you ever go to Veitnam it should be compulsary that you visit it, and I can assure that you will be leaving crying your heart out.
Cambodia
Phnom Pehn - bustling city with good central market selling everthing from watches and sunglasses to food to pots and pans. Apart from that just another city.
Sianoukville - concrete city but with pretty beaches.
Kapong Cham - great bike tour over bamboo bridge that gets rebuilt every year after floods, takes you to Buddist temple and small village with Tabacco fields. Only has 2 restaurants.
Siem Reap - VERY touristy! Undercover market great for souveniers and has food from all over the world. Including 'Happy Pizza' which has dope all over it as its legal in Cambodia. Place to base yourself to see Ankor Wat.
Ankor Wat - Beatiful but overcroweded. Reccomend getting there for sunrise and staying till sunet. You can pretend to be Angelina Jolie in Tomb Raider - a;though with your shoulders and knees covered up ha ha!
Thailand
Bangkok - Too full of westerners looking for cheap sex and drink.
Krabi - Beautiful beaches of the Phi Phi islands but Krabi itself is like being in the Costa del Sol.
Malaysia
Penang - obvious colonial influence with the archictecture, friendly people but cant escape the morning call from the mosque so early rising at 6am!
Kuala Lumper - very cosmopolitan city full of high rise builings and well organised transport systems. Great if you want to spend all day shopping, however not much else to do other than that (spent day in Cosmo world, with the worlds largets indoor roller coaster!)
Port d*** on - nothing there dont bother!
Meleka - Lovely town for a stop off, lizards in the water and churches galore.
Singapore
Great for an electronic bargain, bloody expensive for everything else. Very modern and cosmopolitan!
