Hi there! Well I arrived yesterday in Quito at 8:00am, which is about 2:00pm in England and I'm really tired!!! I'm staying with a woman in the city and 3 other volunteers. I have a box room and I can't see out of my window but all the others have big rooms!!! :( The food is really good though. Today I had a long meeting with all the other volunteers in Ecuador and the co-ordinator here. She gave us loads of information about the country and how to get to the different projects. This afternoon I visited the ecuator and a museum there that was really interesting. Because of the earth's gravitational pull there it is possible to balance an egg on the head of a nail, which I did sucessfully and got a certificate to prove it!!! Tomorrow I'm heading out to the rainforest, which apparentely has snakes and savages so I'm not at all worried!!! I have to take a bus for 6 hours with 5 other volunteers to a city called Tena and from there I take another bus for 1hr30mins into the jungle with 1 other girl. It should be interesting and exciting but now I'm feeling really apprehensive - I just want to get there. It might not be another week until I get to a phone or the internet so until then.
