Leaving Thailand for the Laos border. We took a two day slow boat to Luang Prabang cruising down the Mekong river. The views were spectacular and although the days where long on the boat the landscape more than made up for this! For the two days we drank the Laos beer our "new favourite" and met two other couples Nic and Nigel from Manchester and Mylo and Nayna from South Africa these were are new friends for the next few days ha. It was a strange mix of people but we had fun :) on our second day in Luang Prabang we all took a taxi to Kuang si falls. This was the best place with icy blue lagoons and cascading waterfalls, we spent hours in the water and with the help of Anthony I managed to jump off the high tree and waterfall leaping into the the crystal clear waters. It was here we also saw the Asiatic black bears they are stunning creatures and lovely to see them living a happy life in the forest thanks to the Free the bears project. In Luang Prabang is where my and Anthony's addiction to chicken baguettes started which we eat every where in Laos but as 80 pence they were are best bargain. We also drank quite a lot even having a 10 hour beer session ending in the bowling ally apparently "the place to go" ha with all different nationalities we had a great night :)
