This is a proper photo for were we visited yesterday !

Had a very early start, took around 5 hours and 2 buses to get from San Christonable to Palenque. I think everyone felt a bit motion sick on the joureny as we spent a lot of time driving down really winedy mountian roads. The town of Palenque it´s slef was a bit of a dump but it didn´t matter as our hostle for the night was a short taxi journey away in the jungle ! and I mean propely in the jungle, the four of us (one of the Mexican girls from our weird hippy commune hostel came with us) stayed in these tiny buildings and at night all you could here was the crickets and the wild animals. Well and the rain.The weather really isn´t too great here.

After we ditched our stuff we took a half an hour walk to the ruins, which are amazing. It´s really hard to get a scale of things from photos, but most of them are massive ! It's a lot different to E ngland though, as they allow you to climb all over most of the ruins. You do get fantastic veiws over the jungle from there though ! Although it does mean you have to climb stupidly steep steps to get to the top, I swear the Mayans must have had thighs of steel to handle those. Spent pretty much all day there before we realised that we hadn´t eaten since 6 that morning, so made a quick exit to find food. Which was again taccos, don´t get me wrong they are much nivcer that the ones back home but I think I'm gonig to end up looking like one by the end of the trip.

Last night so we just headed to the bar that was on site and had a few drinks. Got to try and master the art of showering in the dark later, could be intresting.
