Hello all,

Here I am now in Bangkok, I have been here a few days now just as a stop to meet friends coming over tomorrow (silly really as we plan to go back to the South Islands but as I am such a good friend, the journey will have been worth it ha ha). I do not think too much of Bangkok as I love to relax by the beach/lake etc. and there are not many places here I can do that other than in my room. I am literally using this place as a stop gap to collect my friends and to shop for presents for family/friends.

I had to take a bus and ferry from Koh Samui to get here and while I was on the last leg of the journey (by bus) I had 10,000THB and gifts I had bought from Australia stolen from my backpack which has really made me think twice about coming back to Thailand. It is very cheap here but it is so cheap that I feel people are out to rob you. I am certainly not going to let it spoil thr trip of a lifetime though - I have been travelling for 12 months now and this is the first bad thing that has happened to me so I will see it as 'very unlucky'!!

While I have been in Bangkok I went to see the Grand Palace which was amazing - I have never seen buildings like it in my life. Considering this is a 3rd World Country, the buildings were out of this world.

I have been staying at a place called Good Life Hotel which is very clean compared to some of the places I have stayed while in South East Asia so I am feeling quite safe here which makes all the difference, especially after my little incident!

Well I am off to the airport to collect friends tomorrow and we will decide where to go from there (hopefully Koh Phang Yan as there is a full moon party in 4 days), so I will be in touch with all the details soon.

Only one more week and I will be heading home....................... xxxxxxxxx
