We arrive into Pakse at 5:30-6am and wait at the station for a couple of hours talking to a Spanish girl who has been in Thailand for a while learning Thai Massage.
The bus leaves Pakse at about 7:30. This driver beeps at absolutely everything we drive past so it's impossible to sleep, that and they are blasting out air con so it's so cold! Luckily I have by sacred blanket I took from the aeroplane to keep me warm!
At 11am (approx.) we make io the Ferry port to get to the island (only a little village so nothing fancy, at all!)
The ferry is a long boat and takes about 20 minutes to get to our Island, Don Det (one of the 4000 Islands), where they drop us off there's no one around, and for the first time since arriving to Asia, no one shouting "Tuk Tuk" at you.
We did find a man who was one of the people from the island who had his own boat so we (Rikka, Fion, an Australian guy and I) paid him to take us to the north of the island, instead of walking in the heat 4km with our bags!
Now, to find a guest house. Go to the first place we find, Mr B's and for 20,000kip each w decide to stay, but the room is disgusting! Take a quick shower, trying to avoid the Mosquitos at the same time.
We find a bar playing Friends so we eat here, Fion and the Australian guy are here too, so they eat as well. Catch up with mum on Facebook and just relax. Spend most of the afternoon at the bar. Fion and the Australian guy leave to go smoke weed somewhere... Sounds fun... Then we go out to find a dolphin/boat tour for tomorrow but they are all too expensive for just the 2 of us. So, we decide to book our trip out of here to Phnom Penh, leaving tomorrow morning.
Go back to the same bar for the evening, for garlic bread and pizza and to try to cool down, everywhere is just so hot! I fall asleep watching friends, then we decided l head back go the bungalow (read: shed). Climb under the mosquito met, sweating and finally get to sleep at about 10:30pm.
