"Never mind what anybody else done..."
Suddenly being on my own in London motivated me into making a decision on a new town. So on impulse and general curiosity I booked a flight and hostel in Lisbon! Now I'm here and it's a pretty cool little costal city. The language barrier but... Oh wow so hard to get even simple things. I got some crazy lunch but I couldn't get the guy to tell me what it's called. Just the price.
Second day in Lisbon I made some friends in the hostel and we trained it to Sintra, a town near by with some cool castle ruins and the Pena Palace. Both were at the top of a hill and after being to poor to bus it up we walked. Turned out be a far better option as the walk trail went through what seemed like a rainforest! The castle was really cool and proper old. You could walk all along the outer walls. It was covered by clouds that day which ment we didn't get the views but it gave the whole walk this ery awesome atmosphere. We then saw the Pena Palace which was on the same hill. This wasn't as old (1800s still older than our country) but still had impressive work all through it.
Dias caught up to me again a day later and we decided time for bit of a party night. The night district here supposedly has more bars than anywhere else in the world. The next day was nearly a right off but we in the end did a walking tour of the city and got the stories behind all the monuments. Made us feel a lot less guilty about a day on the couch. I'm about to leave this morning to train to Lagos and see if I can't find me some of that Peri Peri chicken.
