"That can't be the way that I roll..."
So... Quick catch up. After running of the bulls scored a free bus ride back to London! Was a 19hr bus trip including the sail across the channel from Calais but. Since I've been hanging here and catching up with Gatt, Dias, Hannah and the Astor Hyde Park crew. Been as fun as always. Before Gatt nuckles down to his job this week we decided a weekend away in Amsterdam was in order.
With a 7am flight from Stansted we had to be up and moving at 3am. Solution, all nighter :). Arriving in Amsterdam tired as wasn't the best of ideas. For day one we had awesome weather and walked around the town. Though the main Dam square, past Anne Franks house (and the huge line), along more canals than Mandurah and through the shady red light district. The killer commute killed us though and we where forced into a nap for the afternoon.
We woke up in time to hit the night life. Pub crawl time. I'm just proud we made the end there was so many people that got lost or to drunk. Next day we moved rather slow. Then what didn't help was sampled some of the local baked goods, Mary Jane specials. Rest of the day was spent just relaxing and listening to music in our mellow state. Wasn't much else we could do anyway, weather turned and it didn't stop raining.
With the weather so crap we also checked out the Heineken brewery. Not being a huge Heineken fan I thought it was pretty average really. The best bit was free beers at the end. Still not letting the rain get in our way we figured a bike tour was in order. So soaked to the core we rode though the country side of Amsterdam. The tour included a stop and a clog and cheese factory, traditional windmill and all though the fields which at some points are 2m below sea level. The highlight but clearly the cheese. So amazingly tasty. I even bought a whole wheel of it!
