Monday - Fine
Our time down by the sea was perfect. It was nice and warm and we went for a swim everyday. A day at the beach has been long over due, we haven't been to the beach since Egypt last december.
We spent the last 4 days pretty much doing absolutely nothing. We did go for a few walks around town now and then. We did some laundry, scanned and emailed some documents. The only real reason we left the flat or the beach was to go to the store to buy more wine.
The flat was great, it was very quiet, clean and tidy. The kitchen was good to have it keep the champagne cool and we had a lot of home cooked meals, except for one evening we went out for ribs and steak.
Pedro the owner was a fantastic host. His welcoming was nice and he let us check out at 3pm for our 6pm flight to Barca. He and his wife even dropped us off at the airport! It was their wedding anniversary today too!
We had a meal before the flight and had no problems before boarding, the flight was good in the end. I thought that we were in for an annoying flight, but for some reason they moved the screaming baby from behind us further down the plane?
Once we landed in Barca, it took a while to get to get out of the airport. They make you walk through all the shops and then we had a wait at the baggage reclaim carousel as well. Once we finally got out we bought return tickets for the airport bus into town, and called the hostel to let them know we would be knocking on the door shortly.
We had a 10-15min walk from where the bus dropped us off at Catalunya to the hostel. At checkin the receptionist was very friendly and helpful, he told us about things going on the city this week, and about nice places to visit while we are here.
Once in the room we found that we had two small bottles of chilled sparking white wine to drink, it's a Spanish wine and it's called cava, no way it could be confused with the pacific island drink cava! Haha! Unlike the muddy water this tasted great while watching a little telly.
After we had finished drinking while unpacking my bag, I found that my bank secure key used for logging onto Internet banking had broken, as well as a tube of sunscreen. Damn airport baggage handlers! After the discovery Kim and I had to do some looking around on the net, to find out what exactly I have to do now.
Well it turns out that I have to call the bank and give them an overseas address, so that they can post a new device to me. That address will have to be a friends address in Italy, and ill have to pick up the package in a month, when we are there for almost a week.
