Saturday : sunny
We got up at 6:30 this morning, felt very tired. We went downstairs for some coffee and breakfast. Then went back up to our room and finished packing up. At Checkout the lady must of woken up on the wrong side of her bed she was quite rude, very close to telling to pull her head in. It was confusing too, ended up with half a Dozen receipts with large numbers on them. Thankfully the bus boy was very nice and we left the hotel on a good note.
The bus boy got us a cab, and told him were we wanted to go. Another fast cab driver 150kmph I notice on the dial. Not sure why the speed, it's not smart driving at all. Didn't bother us though got us to the train station sooner.
Easy checkin for the fast train, and then we had an hour wait. When seated on the train, there was no smelly breath person next to us. We had comfy seats, and soon the Chinese fella next to us started talking. His name was Jackie, and Jackie and I didn't stop talking for the 5hr trip. My throat started to get sore from talking too much. We talked about where Kim and I have been and where we were going. He talked about where he has been too, he works all over the world, currently working in Oman. Anyways he gave us a few tips on Beijing and some places to see before we hopped off at Beijing.
Once at Beijing we took a metro subway train closer to our hostel. The subway systems here are all the same. Once above ground we made our way to the hostel. We turned off the main road down the hostel street. It was a cool no car road push bikes and walking allowed. Our first hostel was full and so was the second we got lucky on the third. Nice place these hostels, they're very homey with the decorations. This hostel is in a good position to explore the city, it's very close to Tiananmen square and the metro subway.
We had a couple hrs before dinner so we had short walk up and down the road and then rested back at the hostel and took advantage the free wifi.
On our earlier walk we noticed a nice looking roasted duck restaurant. So we went there for some duck. The meals that we ordered were very good and finally cheap.
After our meal we walked back to the hostel and got ready for bed. Hopefully the other people aren't too loud they're not the most sound proof rooms
