The last 12 months have flown by and it's hard to believe that Chapman Freeborn is already celebrating its first anniversary in Australia.
The launch of our office in Melbourne this time last year made us the first international air charter specialist to establish its own presence down under - and expanded our global coverage to six continents.
In our first year in business we were also named winner of the Australian Business Award for Enterprise in the transport industry classification.
Despite the challenges of the global economy, Michael Grant, General Manager for Chapman Freeborn Australia remains positive about the state of the Australian air charter market and is confident that the team can build on the successes of the first year:
"We have identified market opportunities within Australia and have put in place a development plan to pursue them. Particular markets of interest are energy, mining, livestock movements and infrastructure projects - as well as private jet services for the entertainment industry and high net worth individuals."
Australia's vast resource endowments and its flourishing mining and energy sectors produce demand for outsize and time-critical equipment - and we frequently cater to air cargo charter requests into the country from Asia, Europe and North America.
As Australia is a gateway to Papua New Guinea, our team is also well abreast of aircraft charter solutions into remote areas.
We're also growing in terms of the private jet market. The team in Australia was recently strengthened by the addition of Ryan Flynn from our UK office, who has eight years of experience in private jets and helicopter charters.
