Arrived at Daly Waters on 16th June. Great caravan park attatched to a pub. good food and entertainment for the night.
Moved onto Mataranka. Stopped 2 nights here. Beautiful natural hot springs and great walk to the waterfall.
From here onto Katherine. Stayed at the national park Nitmiluk for 2 days. Beautiful gorges to walk. Met up with Ian and Jane who we'd chatted to at previous places.
Edith falls next place on our travels. Best waterfall so far!!
Mt Bundy station was the next place we stopped on route to Darwin. Quaint spot, by the Adelaide river.
Arrived in Darwin on the 23rd June. Dabsie got the car serviced. Met with mate who lives there from Brissy. He took us for dinner and showed us the sights of Darwin the next day. Also went to Mindil markets at the beach and made pigs of ourselves with all the great food stalls. Sorry no time to buy pressies! So many people on the beach for the sunset.
The next day went on a tour to Litchfield national park. Picked up at 6.30am and dropped back at 7.30. Took in 2 waterfalls, croc tour and feeding on Adelaide river, Boule water holes and the amazing termite mounds. Ended the tour with champagne and prawns on Fannie bay. Big day.
Kakadu next to visit. Spent 1 night at Ubirrat Merl campsite(millions of mozzies!). Aboriginal sites and art work, beautiful wetlands and wildlife all around. Quite breathtaking!
Now comes my favourite falls by far! Gunlom falls in Kakadu. 60k of crap dirt road to get in but absolutly worth it...
Went onto our first free camp at East Baine river rest area, as carvan parks were full. Had a good night and pulled out the potable loo! All the grey nomads stay at these places to save there money.
Over the Western Australia border to Lake Argyle. Huge man made lake. Sooo beautiful. Caravan park had an infinitey pool overlooking this beautiful lake- spectacular. Stayed 2 nights as 1 wasn't enough.
Today 2nd July we're at Kununurra. Town with a coles and bottle shop so stocking up on supply's. Bought fruit and veg at the local markets to replenish what we had to throw out to cross the border! Just made a curry so bye for now.
