So, Sunday was the day we went all round bankok which started off with a taxi to the bus station to dump the bags. Then we jumped in a taxi, and discovered the importance of pronunciation because they took us to the wrong place way outside bangkok city but got to the grand palace eventually after a 2 hour taxi round bangkok! definetly got to see the sights anyway n it was cheap so was all good. So we seen the palaces, the giant swing, bangkok city centre and rivers. we werent allowed in the palace because i didnt have my feet covered and that day was a exceptionally special day religiously so will try to go in when we head back up! Had a lovely dinner then headedby taxi to the bus station at night for the over night bus. On the way we got the best taxi driver ever who taught us how to speak thai and made us laugh so much
The overnight bus was so cozy they gave us food and drink and blankets to sleep with and it was nice to see bangkok and all through the wee towns at night. Got to chumphon a 4 in the morning and we were told to hang about for 2 hours until we got a lift to the boat. It was a tiny wee taxi rank with nothing about apart from trains and toilets in the ground and scabby dogs but eventually it was time for the shuttle. Jumped on ths windowless van thing filled with other backpackers and none of them spoke english while we travelled to the boat at dawn through champhon.
Jumped on the catamaran which took 3 hours but was lovely passing wee islands and spotting sharks. When we were pulling up to ko tao we couldnt believe it as it looked like we were dreaming. Water was crystal clear with cute wee boats and palm trees. We walked to our hotel which was even more gorgeous with beds on the beach with romantic swings and restaraunt with candles overlooking the beach we both felt like we would wake up any minue and still be on the bus!!!
We have a wee hut on stilts with an outside area with a bed and couch overlooking trees and water. Inside is lovely too with a massive bed and luxurious bathroom. It great t sit out at night an watch the stars overlooking the jungle type thing and hearing all the wildlife. Weve been told there are green snakes and big spiders but weve not to harm them!!! Pictures are to follow! Yesterday we lazed about went to the pool and beach and in the sea which is like a bath. We then had a romantic candlelight dinner in stilts over the beach/sea and watched boats coming in,
Today we borrowed snorkles and went out in the sea. It is full of coral reefs and we seen so many lovely big colourful fish. One yellow with purple dots fish was fasinated with my toes, posibly the nail polish colour and continued to follow us everywhere and nibble them!!! We named her Dora. We heard about a ship wreck and so went to see. it was massive and could swim all around it and this seemed to be where the bigger fish congrigated. We took loads of videos with Ross iphone in a water proof case so will be putting the videos up tonight!.
Im currently siting on a bed on stilts over the pool with a banana colada while ross is in the pool. We just keep saying we cant believe we are hear we feel so lucky! Will keep you posted with the rest of our antics from Ko tao!
