WE woke up early for the drive to Raglan on the east coast. Determined to see the sunrise on the east and set on the west we woke up early and arrived just in time to see the peaking of the sun through the mountains. A gorgeous sight. The journey today was long as we were cutting from coast to coast but it was worth it to get to Raglan, the surf capital of New Zealand. We arrived around 3pm where I then rested and slept for hours, weary from the days before, whilst some of the others went for a surf lesson down on the local beaches. The evening was another set dinner of a roast cooked by the in house crazy chef who seemed love the sound of his own voice. Harsh but true.
The days on Raglan which followed were ones of doctors visits, sunburn and hitch-hiking, three things which I don't plan to do too often! The hitchhiking was a new experience
