From the air Ireland is exactly as I imagined, green fields poking through a crochet of clouds. Outside baggage claim I found the driver with the Softchoice sign as well as a few other folks who had been waiting over an hour for my lazy plane. The twenty minute or so drive to the Westbury Hotel was punctuated with the normal small talk. I introduced myself to the other Softchoice employees, Matt Sampson and his girlfriend Alison from Chicago and Shane Hollas from Texas. I made some quips about my flight and tried not to show my exhaustion one hour into our three day journey through Dublin. The Westbury Clarendon Street Dublin 2, Co. Dublin, Ireland 01 679 1122 Matt and Shane hinted about hitting the hotel bar at 9 AM but I went straight to the room and crashed until Scott arrived at around 12:30 or 1. Scott's flight to Ireland was the opposite of mine. He was bumped to business class from Seattle to Paris and at 12:30 Dublin time he looked more youthful than the 8 years between us. After a shower some of the fog lifted from my head and we headed out onto the streets of Dublin. We had a bite to eat at the Trinity Bar, 46 - 49 Dame Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2 and tasted our first Guiness at the Bruxelles Bar in front of the hotel, 2 Harry Street.
