Not much to comment on today, as it has been, so far, a work day. Bill King, our expat host here, picked us up at 7:15 for what should be a 15 minute trip However, with traffic, it took 35 minutes.
The team at Curitiba is quite nice and very friendly. The cover photo is of the exterior of the office building. I will post other photos later of the other building that is used mostly for storage on the lower level, and houses the production and operations offices on the upper level.
We met all morning then broke for lunch. Went to a local place that is only open around noontime. Had a nice salad bar and a variety of homemade hot dishes. I ate mostly salad, but the chicken leg and a risotto dish I sampled were also good.
Got back from S&C about 5:45 and agreed to meet for dinner at 7. On the recommendation of one of the desk people, we walked about 7 blocks west to Bandiro, a grilled meat establishment. Oh my, what a meat establishment. The menu listed several entrees that had options for 2 or 3 persons. John Lewis ordered a steak item for 2, despite the captain's caution. I ordered an entree that was allegedly for 1, and so did Doug. John got a piece of meat that must've had a cooked weight of at least 20 oz. Doug's initial portion looked small, just two thin pieces, but they brought him two more servings as he finished his initial amount. I thought is ordered one filet for one person, but got two servings of a small filet plus a 8 oz pork chop as well - yup, 4 pieces of meat. Whooo, way more than I could eat.
I addition, they brought us a portion of grilled sausage along with the salads. John had more sausage for dessert, while I had half of a pineapple with lime juice (delicious) and Doug had a Brazilian custard. Good thing we had a 7 block walk back to the hotel to settle at least some of the dinner.
