We are loving this trip! The driving doesn't feel like a chore at all - well at least not to us - every now and again we say to each other thank goodness the kids aren't with us yet. 630am in the dark start today and a 530pm in the dark finish. We are breaking all my rules about not driving before dawn and not driving after dusk but we did need to get some Kms under our belt. The carnage of kangaroos and wombats on the road is incredible. You can barely drive 100m without coming across road kill. Thankfully we haven't added to it (yet). Estimated departure time 6am. Actual departure time 11am. Got as far as Narabri where the guy managing the campground made a crack about Geoffs hair color and there being plenty of grey nomads at the camping ground already! Rained pretty much all of the 500kms. Cecil (the discovery) handled it beautifully.
