Today we (all 5 of us and Beepy) went on a half day fishing charter from Darwin. We had (stupidly) said to cousin Polly that we would be cooking fish on the barbie for dinner. We caught nothing! We got a few nibbles but that was it! Apparently the day before they had caught plenty - yeah right! That said we still had a fantastic day out on a lovely boat in Darwin harbour. Wednesday morning we set off for Litchfield National Park to camp for the night. We had Beepy on board and also met up with Will and Sam who flew up to Darwin for a few days en route to Bali. The waterfalls and waterholes at Litchfield are beautiful and look like they are just out of a Northern Territory tourist guide. The last leg to Darwin this morning was uneventful (and very peaceful). We were at the gate to meet the kids and Beeps and after lots of hugs and kisses it was like we had never been without them. Today we drove 650 Kms and 18 degrees. It was 12 this morning at 3 ways and a glorious 30 degrees at Katherine. Finally the warmth! I took on a road train today and almost lost, he gave me a massive honk on his horn as we went past and he was no doubt abusing me over the CB - but that is one gadget Geoff hasn't quite mastered yet so we couldn't listen in. On the road by 730 after a gorgeous sunrise looking out over the paddocks into nothing. Driving, driving, driving. Through Mt Isa and then nothing but the great open road all day. It is much colder than we thought it would be - around 21degrees with a cool wind. We are listening to Steve Jobs biography on audio book - all 20 CDs of it - not sure which will come first, Darwin or the end of the book.
