This morning we went into the workshop to assess the tyre damage. And damage it was. Both tyres were irreparable with gashes between 2-3cm long, right through the thickest part of the tread. Cecil (the car) has 18 inch wheels which are not common in these parts (too fancy for a Toyota!) The day started off well as we left Home Valley Station via the bush camping area which gave us one of the best views to date. We were looking across the Pentecost River towards the Cockburn ranges and could see crocodiles on the river bank. We thought it would be a quick drive today but nothing is quick about this road. On the way out of El Questro we stopped at Zebedee Springs. These are thermal pools that are naturally heated by the earths core to around 32 degrees. We loved it! We frolicked around in the warm crystal clear water for about 2 hours. Then we set off for Emma Gorge. It is an hour hike up to the gorge and the cliff faces are unbelievably beautiful. We were quite hot when we got to the swimming hole at the end of the gorge and keen to jump in. The water was FREEZIN...

We haven't really adjusted to WA time. We usually wake between 6 and 630am which is early for us. The advantage is you can get going earlier.
