So Christmas Day and I woke up to no not snow, not rain, not even cold, but lovely hot sunshine and the prospect on spending my day on the beach - what more could you ask for...
Admittedly I had a bit of travelling to do for a few hours in the morning to get to the beach, but then the afternoon was spent making the most of the rays and working hard on the tan!
And after such a hard day it was only right that I take some time to relax, so we went to the Last Fisherman's bar at the very end of the beach to sit and watch the sunset over the beautiful beach. Christmas dinner did have some element of the traditional in it as I had prawns, but there wasn't much on offer in the way of turkey or Christmas pudding! I finished off my day with a yummy roti pancake sitting on the beach in the moonlight...If you can't spend it at home, I reckon that was a pretty good way to spend it, great memories anyway.
Boxing day I decided to work off all that excess food I'd eaten the day before and go sea kayaking at Ao Thalone. We went through fantastic mangrove forest and saw an unbelieveable amount of crabs in the sand. It was literally moving with tiny crabs all running across the sand and then diving into small holes when you got too near to them. We also saw more monkeys and fed them pineapple (just a few scraps left for us to much on!) and passed an old sea gypsy cave full of old bones - urgghh!
To round off the day I thought I deserved another thai massage as the kayaking had left my arms just a little bit achy. This time I was rewarded with some fresh pineapple to eat after my massage, which I had overlooking the beach and watching the sun go down.
