Day 40 6th jan We are up and having breakfast for 8.00 today as we travel to Hoi An 31km south.... It's the shortest distance we'll travel between over nights stays.... With the bike fully loaded up we depart Da Nang heading for the Dragon Bridge.... Every time we have ventured out of the hotel in Da Nang we are instantly lost.... I'm sure they move the buildings every night.... It's the only place we've been to where we fail to get a fix on where we are,...

Day 39 5th Jan We start the day very lazily just enjoying our lovely hotel room... I have a traditional Vietnamese breakfast which is basically no different from a traditional Vietnamese evening meal... Its noodles with vegetables, spices and garlic... Lots of garlic..... We eventually venture out in search of lunch and find a really nice river front bar and have a lovely meal ( tuna steak with wasabi mash potato ) and a few drinks which are all really very ...

Day 38 4th jan Cornflakes with milk and toast with butter again for breakfast... Everything's available, but sometimes the simple things are the nicest... We are heading to around 105km south to Da Nang and with no Ho Chi Minh trail we'll be on Highway 1 again.... Thankfully the further south we've come the better Highway 1 has become.... Its still busy, but it's reduced down to a normal road now.... Ironically the bikes make better progress than almost anyth...

Day 37 3rd jan. We get up and grab a good old fashioned breakfast.... Cereals with milk and toast with butter and jam.... Perfect. !! We stay in the hotel for a few hours making use of the good speed of the wifi connection.... Our night spent in hell followed by the last few in heaven has taught us that when it comes to accommodation, paying nothing means you get nothing.... Day 36 2nd jan We depart today in good spirits... Everything gone will with the bike.... Nothing needs any welding, it's just start it up, load it up, and off we go.... We are heading from Dong Hoi - 152 km south to Hue..... Half will be done on another section of the Ho Chi Minh trail where we will make a stop to view the "Vinh Moc tunnels" which were used in the Vietnam war...
