Today we got up at the ungodly hour of 5am and had breakfast and packed up the truck. It was my job today to pack 19 bags into a small back locker, lucky I am good at tetris. I had no idea I could lift that many bags actually.
We set off from our camp at Citrusdell at about 7am and drove for five hour to a town in the middle of absolute no where called Springbok, where Dave and Sarah we shopping for supplies for the next few days. Me and some of the others hung about outside Nandos and chatted for a bit. I cant believe they have a KFC in this small town in the middle of no where!
We hung about for an hour and then went back to the truck, the heat was searing and I dont think Ive ever quite felt anything like it. When we headed back to the truck Kathryn and I went over and chatted to some small chilldren. Kathryn and I took their pictures and showed them to them, they seemed fascinated by our cameras. They were really cute.
We got back on the truck and drove for about 20 minutes out of town and had luch by the side of the road in the absolute middle of no where. We were just about done when a car full of guys pulled up, got out shook all our hands, introduced themselves and drove away again.
After lunch we set off for the Namibian border and we had some trouble getting the truck across for a bit, but everything worked out. We were all sitting on the truck pondering conquering Namibia, and all having corrupt rulerships to get in. Yes I think the heat was really getting to us. We drove across the border and 20 minutes down the road to our camp at orange river, which is really beautiful, there are grass huts everywhere, but we are camping.
