Today we set off from the lodge to the Cape of Good Hope, in our truck whose name is Helena. The safes name is also Pumba, which I think is very cool. It took us about 2 hours to get out there, on the way into the national park we saw three ostrich, which was really cool and then when we headed up to the cape we saw a troop of baboons.
We got to the car park at the top and then we hiked all the way to the top near the lighthouse. It was quite steep walk, but I was quite proud that I made it. I did feel like giving up a couple of times. When we got to the bottom, some of the group decided to hike down to the Cape, I decided to get back on the truck and be driven down. Although seeing the baboons was awesome, I was in no hurry to come face to face with one.
We stopped for lunch in a car park overlooking one of the most pure beaches I've ever seen. We all helped to set up and prepare for lunch, and it took the guys ages to get the tables away afterwards. We then drove back past Capetown and the on for about four hours to Citrusdel, where we made camp for the night. The camp site is very nice, a virtual haven in the middle of absolute nowhere. It even has a small above ground swimming pool, which me and a few others decided to have a go in. I was dreading having to put up my own tent, but it was surprisingly easy. We made dinner which was an awesome steak and I enjoyed a double Captain Morgan's for 24 rand, about $3.50. I stayed up talking to people until the early hours of the morning and when I looked up, I saw the beautiful pure night sky full of stars, out here in the wild.
Tomorrow we have a very early start as we are heading for the border with Namibia, in total I think we have about 8 hours of drive time tomorrow.
