I had a very productive day today. I say that, but I actually just mean, I got everything done today that needed to be done. You know you're overseas when a simple task like getting something printed takes three hours of your time, because you have to go half way across town to do said printing.
I've not been very well today either, nor was I well yesterday. I think this is the fault of the McDonalds on Nevsky Prospect. I've made a new resolution, no more McDonalds, I've lost nearly 10kg since I've been away…imagine how much I could be loosing if I stop eating crap.
After I had finished my errands I went back to the hotel for a nap, before taking the passengers out for dinner to my restaurant in St Petersburg.
It was a really great night out, there was a group of Russian guys celebrating a birthday at the table next to us and they kept asking the ladies in the group to dance, which needless to say they loved. They also sent over a whole bottle of vodka to our table as a present. I made the whole group have a shot and point the glasses in the direction of the Russian men and give them a big Nostravie! Which means cheers in Russian. I found I no longer needed to shot my vodka, and sat there with my especially large shot glass sipping it. Vodka just seems smoother here, or maybe I'm just getting accustomed to drinking it.
All the passengers on my current trip are Australian's and they were all mingling really well with the locals. At one point they even gave them an Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi and the Russians gave them back the equivalent war cry in Russian.
The food was amazing, as it had been last time, most of the passengers had normal stuff. I had a kebab with elk, venison, wild boar and beef all mixed into it. It was amazing, I love trying new meats. After dinner, the man playing the guitar in the restaurant played some oldies western type music and everyone got up and danced, including me who doesn't really know how to dance to Rock around the Clock or In the mood, I need something slightly heavier. The passengers were having fun and that's what matters.
All the passengers thanked me for a wonderful night out and we went back to the hotel to prepare for tomorrows bus ride to Tallinn.
