What does one possibly say about doing nothing all day? I've been in Cancun for about four days now and besides our trip out to Chichen Itza, that's precisely what we've done. Nothing. And after wandering around Japan for two weeks it's been blissful.
We are staying at the Dream Sands Resort, which is all inclusive. I didn't quite understand the concept when we first got here, as we don't have it in Australia so I asked the lady who checked us in to clarify. She gave me a funny look and told me everything is included in the room rates, except the spa and laundry service.
There are seven restaurants here you can eat at, the buffet is amazing the pancakes every morning have been my favourites. With all inclusive also comes unlimited alcohol, which for me I've had surprisingly little of. I've had a few cocktails by the pool and in the Jacuzzi, but nothing major.
I've been into Cancun to go shopping a couple of times and just like every other third world country with tourist spots, they hassle you. Even though the hassle factor compared to somewhere like Egypt had been fairly minimal, I just haven't wanted to put up with it this time and Darren certainly hasn't. As such shops that have left us alone and had ticket pricing have gotten most of our business.
The club scene here seems like it would be awesome and I'd love to come back here with a bunch of mates to enjoy it, Darren's not really into that scene. I must confess I would have been had I been here with Tim or Bianca maybe.
I don't really have much more to tell, this has been an amazing rest but I will be glad to getting back on the go in the U.S. I will definitely be back Mexico, although probably on an adventure trip seeing more of the amazing sights here.
