This morning Janice and I said goodbye to her old group and began check in for out two new groups. One class A boat, which was Mlini that I was already sleeping on and a brand new class A+ called Aurora, which was one of the most amazing boats I'd ever seen.
Janice and I ran up and down the pier all morning catching people with suitcases and back packs and directing them to their correct boats. One thing that struck me was that people seemed to have less luggage than people seemed to bring on the public transport tours that I had just come from running at Tucan. Go figure!
Finally, when we had everyone checked in we had lunch on Mlini, where our overly excitable, Bosnian waiter, Bobo entertained everyone with his over the top personality. After lunch the passengers had free time until dinner.
Just before dinner, Janice and I had to get dressed up, why? Because we were going to Christen Aurora. This is something that I never thought in my life, I would go to. The Christening of a Mega Yacht…and me being me thinking I wouldn't need a lot of nice clothes for tour leading had left all my nice dresses in Split! I did the best I could, the old faithful black skirt, wine coloured singlet and waistcoat over the top. Janice also lent me one of her sailor hats.
We arrived on the yacht to find everyone all dressed up and Graeme our ops manager and Mario the captain giving speeches. About seven bottles of champagne were opened and sprayed all over the place, Christening the boat. We all then drank said champagne and bucket loads or really good Croatian wine. Did I mention I love my job?
After the Christening, we took both groups out for dinner and Ragusa 2 in the old town and I had Seafood Risotto this time. After dinner we went back to Sky Bar and this time I had a bucket of Sex on the Beach and danced the night away until about 1am when I went back to Mlini and was rocked to sleep by the gentle motion of the boat.
