We left Chiang Mai in Thailand to head to Chiang Kong on the border between Thailand and Laos.

After six hours of some suicidal driving on the mini bus we were pretty happy to get off the bus alive. There are only some many times you can handle over taking a lorry on a blind corner wth another lorry coming the opposite way.

We crossed the border (the Mekong River) and headed to Laos immigration to pickup up our visas which was chaos. We even had to pay them an extra dollar for their overtime with it being a Saturday!

Finally in Laos and a two day trip on a slow boat down the Mekong in front of us, cant wait...
