We left tha Loas immigration and headed to the slow boat for our two day trip to Luang Prabang. The boat wasn't all that bad an we had a stop over in a little village for the night.
We headed out for a meal and I ordered steak with peppercorn sauce. Steak was definitely not what I received, it was shredded something (not beef!) and looked and tasted like s***. Not happy. As i got ready for bed in the hotel I seen something move in my bed, I lifted my pillow back and there it was a freakin scorpion! Mr Flip Flop soon sorted the little b****** out and flattened him to death on the floor!
The trip down the Mekong was great, everywhere untouched, with jungle, mountains and remote villages scattered down the river.
Local fisherman out with a little boat and a net while at the riverside elephants were being used to move logs.
The boat trip was def one of the best things I had done in SE Asia.
Luang Prabang has a large French influence. Beautiful villas and reataurants are along the main street wth the night market inbetween (where I bought my snake and scorpion in a bottle!) with villas and restaurants.
The next day we all headed to a waterfall and spent the whole afternoon on the rope swing attemting to do back flips (I felt a little sore after my pittiful efforts!)
