Rich & Suhanya's Travelling Adventures
El Salvador is a hidden gem in Central America. Most travellers bypass it but we were really glad we didn't miss this beautiful, verdant land.
We really enjoyed Juayua, a very chilled town with a great hotel where our room was decorated by a local Salvadorian artist and there was a relaxing garden complete with hammocks. Parque National El Imposible was a definite highlight as were the waterfalls.
In Santa Ana we hiked up Volcan Santa Ana where we had amazing views of a Laguna and the town stretched out below. At the sumit, at the bottom the crater, there is a turquoise lake. It was steaming, due to the temperature being in excess of 100 degrees Celsius, and there was a strong sulfurous odour!
