This morning was my earliest start yet, I had to get up at 05:00 to go and pick Doreen up at her hostel so that we could go back to the Byron Bay Lighthouse to try and get some photos of the sunrise. Although the sunrise was not that spectacular I got a couple of shots that were OK.
From the lighthouse I programmed the SATNAV for the Blue Mountains in Sydney and was a little surprised at the distance that it said; 950km and it would take around 12 hours. Why is everything so far away in this country?
We finally got to the Blue Mountains national park at around 8pm and please don't tell the hire company as I am not supposed to be driving the van after dark. Finally after driving around for about another hour I managed to find a free campsite, the "Old Ford Reserve" and parked up for the night. Dinner tonight was heated up spaghetti bolognaise from yesterday for both of us.
